  Apogee 2000--Functioned as Vice President of Operations with responsibility for planning and management. Accomplishments include:

Organization of Operations for:
(a) simulation and modeling,
(b) manufacturing,
(c) field operations,
(d) system test,
(e) operations centers,
(f) training, and
(g) documentation.

Prepared Operations Plan and Master Test Plan.

Selection of Potential Network Partners through process that included:
(a) request for information and feedback sessions,
(b) request for proposals,
(c) comparative evaluation of proposals, and
(d) due diligence sessions for top-two potential partners.

Evaluation of Telecommunications Proposals report prepared.

Simulation & Modeling of worldvoice networktm to include:
(a) analysis of network typologies and technologies to cost-effectively interconnect several hundred Apogee Gateways over a 12-year planning horizon,
(b) sizing of the front-end network Gateway ports and the back-end network router ports as well as frame relay access ports and permanent virtual ciruits, and
(c) estimates of Cost-of-Services (COS) for
   (i) Voice Mail System-to-Gateway Network,
   (ii) Inter-Gateway Communications Network,
   (iii) Customer-Premised Gateways,
   (iv) Service Gateways,
   (v) Operations Centers,
   (vi) Operations Payroll, and
   (vii) Other Operations-all for a 12-year planning horizon.

Developed, conducted, and documented 16 Simulations.

Network Service Planning Guidelines for technologies and options for the following interfaces:
(a) User / Voice Mail System (VMS),
(b) VMS / Gateway (GW),
(c) GW / GW, and
(d) GW / Operations Center.

Installation & Test Procedures for fast-track roll-out of Service Gateways and Customer-Premised Gateways within the United States. Prepared draft Gateway Installation Guide.
  Centigram--Functioned as Manger of Strategic Technologies Program with responsiblity for the integration of several voice mail systems into the E-Plus GSM digital cellular telephone system in Germany. Accomplishments include:

Development and Management of the Project Management Plan, Master Test Plan, and Test Scenarios for Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Frankfurt.

Coordination of Functions for change orders, order entry, purchasing, production, quality assurance, shipping, installation, test, and cut-over to live operations of voice mail systems with signalling system 7.

Coordination of Tests at four levels of complexity:
(1) Installation & Commissioning,
(2) Functional Interface & Integration,
(3) System Acceptance, and
(4) System Stability.

Re-engineering Analyses for several major global processes:
(1) Sales-to-Receipt Process,
(2) Ship-to-Receipt Process,
(3) Installation-to-Certification Process, and
(4) Problem Resolution & Incident Escalation Process.

Centigram was the only E-Plus contractor to meet major contractual milestones on schedule.

Technological Infrastructure--Served as senior adviser to several corporate site location teams responsible for selection of best state, community, and site for operations:

  • Apple Computer, Inc.
  • The Doctors' Company
  • Golden West Financial / World Savings
  • Great American Life Insurance Company
  • Rohr, Inc.

These five projects all included an advanced team decisionmaking process with enterprise success dependent on an advanced computing and communications infrastructure. Emphasis included factors contributing to high systems availability: digital switches, fiber optics, reliable electric power, etc.
