BPP Technology (Indonesia)--Led team engaged by the Minister of Research and Technology to develop capabilities for the building of a stronger Indonesia through development and application of appropriate technology. Results included design and development of the organization to a 600-person level, capacity-building programs in the U.S. for Indonesian scientists and engineers, and joint BPP Technology-DKI Jakarta programs for entrepreneurship and small business formation, water and sanitation, housing, transportation, and financing and investment. City of San Diego--Led team egaged by the City to plan and develop comprehensive management planning program and supporting information systems to improve the quality of life for San Diego residents. Major functions included community needs assessment, strategic planning, budgeting, and program evaluation along with computer-based applications designs and five-year development and implementation plans. Dysan Corp.--Corporate Planner responsible for development and implementation of corporate planning and development process including organizational processes, management systems, and information technology. Performed major organization and management study, designed strategic planning and resource allocation process, and corporate information resources plan that collectively yielded plans and budgets from Dysan's eight divisions. The Fantus Company--Designed management information systems based on evaluation of organizational processes, management systems, and information technology. Results supported consultants as well as internal corporate staff. Ministry of Communications (Kuwait)--Led team engaged by the Minister to develop the organizational capabilities and management systems required to implement long-range plans for telephone, mail, roads, rail, and ports. |
Ministry of Defense (Germany)--Director SRI-Bonn responsible for joint SRI- Ministry team responsible for the design and development of a planning, programming, and budgeting system to help decision makers carry out a six-phase mission: strategic planning, long-range objective planning, midrange program realization planning, short-range follow-on planning, execution, and control. The design was based on several distributed planning and analysis centers linked to an integrated database through a powerful data base management system. Los Angeles County Schools--Led team engaged by the Office of the County Superintentend of Schools to develop and implement an education and business improvement program and supporting information systems including the acquisition of new information technology. Results included a five-year education and business systems improvement plan, acquisition of new computers, and development and implementation of an integrated management planning and resource allocation system. National Science Foundation--Led team engaged by Research Applied to National Needs program office to: (1) develop General Revenue Sharing (GRS) formula alternatives to more equitably allocate $6 billion per year to 39,000 units of state and local government and (2) sythesize and summarize the GRS process and formula research and recommendations of NSF-supported scientists for the U.S. Congress. Sanwa Bank (Japan)--Member of team egaged by Bank to re-engineer organizational processes, management systems, and information technologies in 210 braches and data centers in Tokyo and Osaka. Innovations and improvements included branch systems and procedures, loan packaging and processing, automated teller machines, electronics funds transfer, distributed processing, and other areas implemented by 300-person programming shop.
